Popeye, the famous spinach-eating sailor, is a tour guide on Liberty Island where he tells visitors of the historic treasures to be found in the Statue of Liberty. The Sea Hag overhears him and mistakenly thinks the "treasures" can be stolen. She and her son, Brutus, set out to discover where they are hidden. They capture Olive Oyl and Swee'pea, hold them hostage and hide Popeye's stock of spinach, the source of his strength. Wimpy, meanwhile, opens a hamburger stand on the island and has a near disastrous encounter with a group of lady tourists who are unable to find any meat in the hamburgers. Audiences everywhere will be charmed by Popeye and Olive Oyl (Popeye's "sweet patootie"), J. Wellington Wimpy, the professional moocher, plus the Sea Hag (the last true witch on Earth), her lumbering son, Brutus, and her evil buzzard, Bernard. The show is highlighted with an outstanding music score. Copyright 1984 King Feature Syndicate, Inc. Visit the King Features Popeye Website and the Popeye Fan Club!
